Food that actually burns fat when eaten almost sounds too good to be true. Although eating certain foods won’t magically shed off those extra pounds, when complimented with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, these amazing foods can have some surprising and helpful effects.

Green Tea

Green tea has long been praised for its abundant health benefits. This ancient drink is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains catechins, a type of phytochemical that stimulates the body to speed up metabolism. Green tea incorporated into any healthy diet can do wonders to the body. Quinoa

A handful of organic, un-salted nuts can leave the body feeling full and less likely to experience cravings. Nuts are extremely beneficial to one’s health, containing high amounts of omega-3s, the good kind of fat.

Grapefruit

This tart fruit contains a chemical called naringin, which prevents fat from being stored in the body. A study from the Scripps Clinic (San Diego, California) reported that subjects eating half of a grapefruit or drinking 8 oz. of grapefruit juice three times a day while maintaining their normal diet lost an average of 4 pounds over 12 weeks.
